Rehabilitation of the "Serghei Lunchevici" National Philharmonic

REHABILITATION

SURFACE: 60 000m²

CLIENT : Ministry of Culture, Republic of Moldova

LOCATION : Chisinau, Republic of Moldova

Our proposed design for the rehabilitation of the "Serghei Lunchevici" National Philharmonic in Chisinau, Republic of Moldova - which recently suffered fire damage - is a harmonious blend of old and new. Our approach pays homage to the building's rich history while incorporating contemporary elements that reflect a modern era.

The main objective of our design is to preserve the remaining historical elements of the building while creating new spaces for people to explore and experience the structure in innovative ways. Our use of reflective materials ensures that visitors can immerse themselves in the building's surroundings and become part of its story. The design invites people to project themselves into the building and become an integral part of it.

To enhance the building's accessibility, we created new ways to reach the philharmonic and opened up the city block to create new axes within the city. We also added more spaces for people to explore the building, allowing visitors to enjoy different viewpoints and experiences. Moreover, we incorporated green areas around the building to act as buffer zones, reducing noise and disturbance to the surrounding environment.

Overall, our design is a modern and respectful tribute to the philharmonic's past. We also consider the future, providing a new and accessible experience not only for visitors but also for the neighborhood and the city.
